What you will generally need
Each route has its own rules. Confirm yours on GOV.UK before applying.
- Valid passport or travel document with a blank page
- Evidence of funds in the format and for the period the route specifies
- Certificate of Sponsorship (work) or CAS (study), where the route is sponsored
- English language evidence at the level the route requires
- TB test certificate if you have lived in a listed country for six months or more
- Certified translations of anything not in English or Welsh
- Biometrics: an appointment at a visa application centre, or the ID Check app
